Green Farm has a rich heritage of keeping the health and wellbeing of the consumer as a key focus. A marked milestone on this journey was the removal of artificial flavours and preservatives from all Green Farm products in 2011. Since then, the brand has consistently delivered innovation in chicken and turkey products to make eating well easy for everyone.
Green Farm is a tasty convenient cooked meat choice that is natural and protein powered. Our range of chicken and turkey is high in protein to provide a nourishing addition to any sandwich, salad, stir fry or snack.
Green Farm was established in the heart of the Irish midlands by Kenneth Greene. At a young age Kenneth began rearing and selling poultry from his family farm to his school mates; his passion and entrepreneurial spirit continued to grow this enterprise and in 1991 Green Farm began wholesaling poultry products from the family farm in Multyfarnham, Co Westmeath.
In 2019, Green Farm was acquired by O’Brien Fine Foods, specialists in the production of high-quality premium meats. O’Brien Fine Foods is a family-run business which employs over 600 people across three sites in both Ireland and the UK including Timahoe, Rathowen and Bearfields of London.
Sustainability is a key focus for us at Green Farm. In August 2019 the brand introduced a new smaller pack size to reduce surplus packaging. Moving into 2020, Green Farm relaunched with new packaging which included a recyclable tray and sleeve. More recently in 2022, we reduced our packaging further by moving from a sleeve to a top film, and in 2023 we reduced our environmental impact further by changing our packaging to a mono apet material.
OBFF is a proud member of Origin Green since 2014. Origin Green is a voluntary sustainability programme, which enables Ireland’s food industry to set and achieve measurable sustainability targets in the areas of manufacturing, packaging, waste management and social sustainability.
In 2023, we became a proud member of the B Corp community. An international certification, B Corp sets and maintains high social and environmental standards for businesses. The comprehensive B Corp verification process examines five key areas: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers.
As a business, we work in partnership with Food Cloud, an organisation that links businesses with charities to help reduce food waste while at the same time helping those in need.
